THIS SHOW HAS BEEN  RESCHEDULED TO December 17TH AT 5:00!!  There are only 2 tickets available for this concert The Jazzway Holiday Show with Sharón Clark and the Chris Grasso Trio   Ms. Clarks sound evokes not [Billie] Holiday but Drather a less operatic Sarah Vaughan fused with the more animated side of Shirley Horn, a singer who also liked to take her time. Ms. Clarks voice is rich, her phrasing unfussy, her jazz embellishments minimal. -- Stephen Holden, New York Times   Like [Sarah Vaughan], her natural sound is almost operatic in its richness, but pure jazz in its improvisational sassiness. But when she brings her remarkable instrument to bear on those pop hits of the post-nuclear age, which she clearly loves, she creates something new and amazing. . . All of which begs an additional question: Why has Sharon Clark been so overlooked, particularly in New York, for all this time? That is surely going to change." Will Friedwald, Wall Street Journal   "A revelation . . . I never thought I'd hear a singer with the range, musicality and command of tone and timbre that was Sarah at her best, but now I have." JazzTimes         DC's incomparable vocalist, Sharón Clark presents everyone's favorite holiday tunes, backed by the Chris Grasso Trio. Winner of the Billie Holiday Competition and the American Traditions Vocal Competition, Ms. Clark has been one of the premier vocalists in the Baltimore-Washington area for a decade or more and has received rave reviews for her performances in New York City. She has also toured extensively in Europe during the last few years.  In fact, Ms. Clark has recently moved to Europe and now comes back to the US for periodic performances.  Catch her while she's in town!!  All tickets include soft drinks, a raffle, a post-concert buffet of desserts, cheeses and fruit and a chance to mingle with the artists. Adult beverages (beer, wine cocktails) are also available for a small fee. Her New York run drew raves from the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal, and she won New York’s Bistro Award for Best Vocalist.   Ms. Clark has made multiple international tours in recent years, making her debut in Israel and returning to Russia, where she has developed a major following. Her most recent release, “Do it Again — My Tribute to Shirley Horn,” is on its third printing, and she grabs top honors wherever she goes.   Ms. Clark won the Gold Medal and $10,000 top prize at the Savannah Music Festival's American Traditions Competition.
