Sandy Asirvatham and The Memoir Band, 6004 Hollins Ave, Baltimore, MD
Baltimore Chanteuse Unveils New Tunes at Jazzway 6004
Baltimore has been buzzing about singer/songwriter Sandy Asirvatham (pronounced a-sir-VATH-UM). When she returns to Jazzway 6004 for a Just Desserts concert on Friday, May 1, the main course will be musical. Sandy’s Muse has been working overtime and she’ll unveil ALL NEW TUNES, written since the release of her 2007 debut CD, Memoir.
For this exclusive performance, the dark eyed beauty will be backed by the Memoir Band featuring Frank Russo on drums, Amy Shook on bass and Chris Kennedy on guitar. The concert will be audio-recorded and our intimate listening room provides a rare opportunity to catch a rising star up close.
While Asirvatham is best known for her successful career as a journalist, that role is fast being eclipsed by her burgeoning career as a singer songwriter and jazz pianist.
Her CD Memoir received effusive praise from Baltimore Magazine’s John Lewis: “…she walks a fine line between singer/songwriter and jazz chanteuse with some Tin Pan Alley in the mix, smartly turning phrases and crafting peculiarly appealing melodies.â€
Music fans have been turning out to hear the striking chanteuse in a growing list of venues. Once again Jazzway 6004 offers an exclusive opportunity to hear her very latest creations.
Dessert and soft drinks/coffee included in the ticket price of $25.
