Jazzin’ It Up at The Park – a fundraiser for Sisters Academy, Montgomery Park 1800 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, MD
A Special announcement from Jazzway: Jazzin’ It Up at The Park – a fundraiser for Sisters Academy
Jazzway is lending support to the annual fundraising event for Sisters Academy of Baltimore, a tuition-free Catholic, community-centered middle school, whose mission it is to educate girls of different races, ethnic groups, and religions, from families of limited economic means, particularly those in southwest Baltimore. The Academy empowers its students to become agents of transformation in their families, communities, and society.
Their vision is that graduates of Sisters Academy will demonstrate the skills of logical thinking, perceptive reading, competent writing, and effective problem solving. They will be well-educated, self-assured, spiritual, and committed young women who are so needed in our community, our nation, and our world. They will be leaders who make a difference. The school was founded and is supported by four congregations of religious women and is a non-profit organization. Sisters Academy welcomes girls of all races, ethnicities, and religions. Sisters Academy remains tuition-free for students, thanks to generous contributions from members of our community who support us in educating girls. Learn how you can help support a student. Join Sisters Academy for an evening of syncopated rhythms recalling Baltimore's famous jazz heritage, legendary stars, and rich cultural legacy to help the school to raise funds to sustain their commitment to educating girls from southwest Baltimore. Don your "out on the town" best and prepare to travel time as Sisters Academy pays homage to Jazz's Golden Age with hot jazz music, nonstop dancing, delicious cuisine and liquid libations on a culinary tour of America's great jazz cities and their regional specialties. Enjoy the sounds of local musicians, led by renowned saxophonist Craig Alston and his talented ensemble. The playlist will be upbeat, entertaining, and will move folks to the dance floor.
